This was fun! The parts that trip me up are where the book differs from the movies. I’m more familiar with the book, so sometimes it’s hard to remember what the movie version is. The seven stars have to do with the sign of the House of Elendil. The standard of that house is seven stars under a crown with the white tree of Gondor on a black background. There is more information on the Livery of the heirs of Elendil page From Tolkien Gateway. My head cannon re Eomer’s white horse tail is that it hearkens back to the white horse on a green background which is the standard of Rohan. It’s probably a sign of his position as the Third Marshal of the Mark.
